Volunteering

In July 2024, Nui Tuong has welcomed over 250 international volunteers from 20 countries, including Germany, France, Belgium, the UK, Italy, the USA, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Singapore, Australia, New Zealand, and Nigeria. This diverse group consists of students, gap year participants, interns, travelers, and professionals, all eager to make a positive impact in the local community and engage in meaningful cultural exchanges.

Over the past eight years, these volunteers have significantly influenced the students, particularly the core team, by enhancing their educational journey and personal growth. In addition to teaching English, leading art classes, and providing social skills, volunteers have also contributed to classroom enhancements, garden maintenance, painting projects, renovations, and community events, greatly improving community life.

With an average of 7-8 volunteers per month, they strive to fully immerse themselves in local life to better integrate and understand the community they are serving. Despite encountering cultural and language barriers, they have persevered and built strong connections, all in pursuit of fostering authentic human relationships.

In addition to their valuable contributions, volunteers have the opportunity to explore the beauty of Nui Tuong, including visits to Cat Tien National Park, Stone Hill Farm, Trieu Hai Waterfall, the Cat Tien archaeological site, Cocoa Gardens, and the Ta Lai ethnic minority village. Watching stunning sunsets over rice fields and cycling through Nui Tuong’s picturesque surroundings are highly recommended activities.

Cultural exchange between the volunteers’ home countries and Vietnam is enriched through shared experiences like cooking, gardening, sports, and storytelling sessions, promoting a deeper understanding and appreciation of diverse cultures.

Volunteering remains essential for Nui Tuong’s development and success, with an ongoing need for more volunteers to sustain and expand these initiatives, ensuring that the community thrives and students receive the necessary support for their growth and achievements.
